How to Use Google Search in Microsoft Edge’s Address BarAugust 9, 201512 Comments2 Min Read Narender Singhsingh_nsk12 Comments Share This! Facebook Twitter Google Plus Pinterest WhatsAppMicrosoft Edge is the default browser bundled with Windows 10 and as with all things Microsoft, uses Bing as the default search engine. Bing is good, but in most of the cases, the results have slightly lesser relevance than what you’ll get from a Google search. It also trims down to user’s personal preferences and interested. Anyways, if you’re looking for a way to use Google as the default search engine for search queries entered in Microsoft Edge’s address bar, you’re at the right place. (adsbygoogle = window. adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Changing the Default Search Engine to GoogleMicrosoft Edge supports the Open Search technology and any search engine which uses the same can be used as the default search engine on Microsoft Edge. In order to use Google for address bar searches, follow the steps mentioned below:Launch Microsoft Edge and browse to www. google. com (or your local Google website).Click More Actions button (3 horizontal dots at the Top Right) and choose Settings. Scroll down and choose Advanced Settings. Scroll to locate Search in the address bar with. Click on the drop-down that says bing. com and choose <Add new>.Choose Google and click on Add as Default. That’s it. Any further searches (direct entry or search suggestions) that you do using Microsoft Edge will now be handled by Google. Similarly, you can use any other search engine as default as long as it supports Open Search technology. Reply s ellis says: September 4, 2015 at 1:37 am Had the same problem, didn’t come up as an option to click on. Discovered I first had to navigate to google. com in the edge browser, then repeat the “settings” process. Then google appeared as a choice to select for “add as default”.Reply christy says: August 17, 2015 at 5:06 pm I can’t click on “add as default” whyReply Doesn’t work anymore says: August 14, 2015 at 5:38 am Sorry, I followed this to the letter.
